Biking Blues- Part Deux

Downsizing and Upsizing

A few years ago I made the mistake of purchasing several bikes that I didn't know how to ride but felt confident that I could learn how.
  • Penny Farthing aka the breakneck bike--getting on and riding is hard enough; getting off is what earned it the nickname of breakneck bike--currently trying to sell this one after riding it once in the hallway of our apartment complex
  • Backwards Bike- most bikes you turn the handlebars and the bike goes in that direction; not so on the "backwards" bike- you turn one way and the bike heads the other direction; nearly impossible to ride without months of practice--I left Atlanta before being able to ride this one
  • Giraffe Unicycle--I haven't been unicycling much recently but I figured it would be like a bike, easy to pick back up; yeah not so much especially when you're starting 4 feet up in the air--donated this death trap to LA Circus
  • Off Road Unicycle--basically a unicycle that has a fat tire; I thought this would work out at Burning Man; I can actually ride this one; will be testing it out at that thing in the desert later this year
  • Tall Bike-basically one bike welded on top of another bike--I successfully rode this one; however on my second attempt, I didn't make the dismount very cleanly and head my head on the concrete like a coconut as well as slamming my right-side; my head is fine now, but the rest of me is still sore; driving across the country certainly didn't improve the situation; I'm going to give this guy a second chance, on the grass with a helmet on
  • Mountain Bike--My newest acquisition; hopefully I'll get to hit the trails and get some exercise and not get hurt in the process

Jon Danniells is an adventurer and traveler, a teacher and student, a husband and a father, a cook and a farmer, a "week-end warrior" (very amateur athlete) and has not earned any money on these labors of love. When I googled myself what showed up first was my IMDB listing, which is basically a resume for my 20 and then some year career in film, for which  I fortunately do get paid.
