Merry Christmas and Happy New Year's 2017 I sat down notebook and date-book beside me, ready to tell the story of our Iceland road-trip adventure, day by day. But I've got so much to do. Possibly a new job, starting a distance-learning program to again attempt to get a college degree, a new exercise/weight-loss challenge; recovering from the holidays and getting on with life. With that said, I'm going to dump a bunch of photos and give an overview of our time in that magical and crazy island country. ![]() I Almost Drowned A dramatic title but all too accurate. However before that eye-opening adventure we saw glaciers up close and personal, hiked up and checked out an amazing waterfall before making a scary journey to get behind said waterfall and see it from the inside looking out. Hiked around a semi-frozen crater lake. Witnessed a tour bus go up in flames before our very eyes. Tried an Icelandic specialty; dried fish, fermented shark and a shot of Black Death vodka; and managed not to vomit. Walked along the shore of a glacier lagoon Made it back to Reykjavik for yulelads, an amazing New Year's Eve dinner, bonfires on the beach, fireworks and the northern lights and the evening is just beginning; kicking 2016 to the curb and welcoming 2017 in with open arms, Icelandic style

AuthorJon Danniells is an adventurer and traveler, a teacher and student, a husband and a father, a cook and a farmer, a "week-end warrior" (very amateur athlete) and has not earned any money on these labors of love. When I googled myself what showed up first was my IMDB listing, which is basically a resume for my 20 and then some year career in film, for which I fortunately do get paid.
