Christmas Eve-Day 2?

Or was it Day 1?
We got off the plane and hit the Blue Lagoon after having had almost no sleep for a day or so; hard to remember with the time changes and flight delays and then soaking in magical waters for hours only to drive around a country where the few hours of daylight are this mystical silver.

Either way, in Iceland Christmas Eve is the big day not Christmas, so the streets were pretty quiet, which was fine with us.   The next morning, I think, we headed to our first destination. Unfortunately due to the weather and the length of days we didn't see some of the "highlights" of our tour but we did make it to Grundarfjorbur.

Grundarfjörþur
Grundarfjörður is a small town, situated in the north of the Snæfellsnes peninsula in the west of Iceland. It is situated between a mountain range and the sea. The nearby mountain Kirkjufell forms a small peninsula.

We were hoping to see the Northern Lights and we did get a slight flare, but not really. However we were definitely in a winter wonderland like we'd never experienced before.

Jon Danniells is an adventurer and traveler, a teacher and student, a husband and a father, a cook and a farmer, a "week-end warrior" (very amateur athlete) and has not earned any money on these labors of love. When I googled myself what showed up first was my IMDB listing, which is basically a resume for my 20 and then some year career in film, for which  I fortunately do get paid.
